(Beijing, May 31) With a time of 2:00:48.5 16-year-old Chloe Sutton of the United States emerged victorious in the women's marathon swimming, which awarded her one of the last tickets to the Beijing Olympic Games.

Commenting on her winning performance today, the American teenager said she had not expected to win the title due to her lack of experience. Although the water was a little cold she said she was fine and by the third lap she intentionally slowed down in order to conserve some energy for the final spurt. She added that the physical part posed the greatest challenge to her.

As resgards the upcoming Beijing 2008, Chloe Sutton said she would throw herself into a period of pre-Olympic training starting from next week, as she would strive for good results in both the Olympic swimming and marathon swimming competitions.
